All treatment at HELP begins with an interdisciplinary evaluation. It is during this evaluation that your evaluation team and you will design the first clinical path of your treatment here.

Patients often ask, "what is a clinical path?" A clinical path is a term in medicine that describes the optimal timing and integration of healthcare resources delivered to obtain the desired outcome. In the case of HELP treatment your initial clinical path this is chosen for you by the evaluation team after the day long introduction to you.

Patients will meet individually with members of the evaluation team including physicians, psychologists, physical therapists, clinical assistants and life skills coaches. These meetings will integrate proven interview and examination components to determine what is causing your pain and what it means. These interviews will also focus on what impact pain has had on your life and what portions of the life you had before are most important for you to get back.

The evaluation team will present you with our findings at the day end conference. During this time you and important others in your life are invited to hear and participate in constructing a "clinical path" that will integrate our opinions, your goals and available resources to help you manage your life despite pain.
